DISCUSSING EDUCATIONAL PROSPECTS FOR TAJIK STUDENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM

With the aim of strengthening scientific and academic ties and improving educational conditions for Tajik students at universities in the United Kingdom, a meeting was held in Birmingham between a representative of the State Institution “Center for International Programs” and the Head of the Foundation Programme at the University of Birmingham.



During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the development of bilateral cooperation, attracting talented applicants from the Republic of Tajikistan, improving the quality of education, and enhancing academic support for students. It was emphasized that the University of Birmingham is one of the leading and prestigious institutions in the UK and is ranked among the top 100 universities in the world according to the QS World University Rankings. The university holds a strong reputation in fields such as engineering, construction, information technology, natural sciences, medicine, and social sciences. It offers a robust research environment and a diverse international academic atmosphere.




As part of the visit, the representative of the Center also held a meeting with Tajik students studying at the university under the International Presidential Scholarship of the Republic of Tajikistan “Durakhshandagon.” He personally reviewed the dormitory conditions, classrooms, and academic infrastructure to assess the learning environment of the students.



Currently, Tajik students at the University of Birmingham are pursuing studies in areas such as construction, engineering, IT, and fields related to sustainable development. During the discussion with the students, the representative of the Center emphasized the importance of making effective use of available opportunities, broadening their worldview, showing initiative, and participating in international programs. He also encouraged the students to actively promote Tajik history, culture, and values within the university community.



The leadership of the Foundation Programme expressed readiness to design and implement joint academic programs, enhance scientific cooperation, and expand faculty and student exchange with partners in Tajikistan.
